Description

Two different campaign items from the 1978 Governor of Alabama campaign. These were approx. 5-3/4" x 8-1/2" handouts. They were placed in business locations for customers to pick up as they were checking out. One was printed on white paper, the other on light yellow paper. F. C. Koster was not a politician in general, since this was the one and only campaign he entered. He owned a radiator service shop and was also a Church of God preacher, so he didn't have a lot of extra time. However, he did have some help to cover the entire state in putting up posters and leaving hand-out literature. Koster finished a poor 6th in a field of 6! He only garnered 4,948 votes out of nearly 900,000 cast!! But he was running against 5 other well tested candidates that all but two had a lot of political experience. The winner of the Governor's race was a first time candidate, but he was well known as a All-American football player at Auburn University, but he also made millions of dollars by inventing and selling the plastic covered lift weights, barbells, Fob James. These are unique little hand out political flyers. When you purchase, you get one of each type!!!
