Offered here is a 1968-D Encased Cent, made and given out to promote John Hill for Governor of Texas. At the time, John Hill was Secretary of State. John Luke Hill Jr. (October 9, 1923 – July 9, 2007) was an American lawyer, Democratic politician, and judge. He is the only person to have served as Secretary of State of Texas , Texas Attorney General , and Chief Justice of the Texas Supreme Court . In 1972, Hill was nominated as attorney general.
